DESCRIPTION;LANGUAGE=en-US:\\R1 – added the WebEx information\n\nICCAIA N
SP Advisors\,\n\nPlease join me if you can for a discussion of a coordinat
ed industry position with respect to the timeline for DFMC GBAS. I’d li
ke to have this discussion and modify IP XX so that it can be a better coo
rdinated industry position before it is submitted for NSP/6. So please re
ad the draft (attached) and come ready to discuss any aspects of the paper
that you may not agree with. Also note that Linda Lavik has prepared a p
roposed compromise schedule (shown below). I’d like to get everyone’s
views before we submit this IP under the ICCAIA banner.\n\nThanks\nTim Mu

Fax (425) 342-5812\n\nLinda’s proposed revision to the paper:\n\nIn the
GWG telecon on October 14\, there did not seem to be any clear conclusions
\, however\, these are some takeaways:\n- A careful review of the co
ncept is needed\, with respect to other operational contexts and use cases
than the approach\, landing\, rollout and take-off phases that the curren
t GBAS concepts are standardized for (AI 232)\n- The view of the Eur
opean Commission is that there is a need to target an accelerated timeline
compared to the ones above\n- Input from RTCA is needed in order to
consider the dependencies with the DFMC SBAS MOPS and the future DFMC GBA
S MOPS (Jwgs4/WP35)\n\nThe following draft timeline takes the two first co
nsiderations above into account\, but must be revised to take input from R
TCA into account. It is noted that this timeline is expected to require co
nsiderable effort from the relevant stakeholders. It is also noted this ti
meline is based on the assumption that the concept review concludes that t
he preferred concept is similar to the one investigated by and proposed by
SESAR. Both aspects impose some risk on the timeline.\n\n2021 Collect
requirements from additional operational use cases\, evaluate possible con
cepts against them\nQ4 2021 A high level concept (similar to the level of
detail currently proposed by SESAR\, with all options selected) agreed in
ICAO and RTCA\nQ4 2022 A detailed concept paper agreed in ICAO and RTCA\,
similar level of detail as the 2009 GAST D concept paper\nGWG drafting gro
up to start an update package to ICAO SARPs\nRTCA/EUROCAE to start draftin
 g airborne MOPS\nQ4 2024? A baseline airborne MOPS\nPrototype airbo
rne implementations for validation\nQ4 2025? A baseline development
SARPs for GAST F\nPrototype ground implementations for validation\n2028
